About Kim
No wonder there is so much joy in the work Kim has chosen. Her clients are in love—in love with their soon-to-be spouses, in love with a child in utero, in love with their growing families. When Kim photographs, she is surrounded by this radiance and works with it to reflect in her images what she is seeing and feeling. Kim says, “My wish is to continue being part of each client’s life for many years. I feel privileged to photograph any stage of their lives.” She often meets them before they are to marry, comes back to photograph with each subsequent child, and then returns for a gathering of extended family to celebrate three and four generations.
Kim likes to think of the photographs she discovered, at her grandparents house, of her ancestors whom she never met. “I held those photographs on many occasions and imagined who these people were, what they thought about, and what their lives were like when they were not standing still for their (very serious) portrait,” Kim remembers. She makes images for people to treasure today, images that will ultimately outlast them and be part of their familys legacy.
Inspired by the ever-evolving craft of photography, Kim loves what she does because she is learning all the time, trying new things, and staying fresh. She reflects, “I am grateful to my clients, who come along on this creative journey and entrust me with photographing them in ways that capture who they really are.”
